Navigator Church Ministries
How healthy is your church? What is its impact for the Kingdom?
Surveys show 85 percent of the 350,000 churches in America have plateaued or are in decline. Desiring to change this trend, Navigator Church Ministries (NCM) is committed to serving local churches in fulfilling their God-given mission of making disciples. Their burden is to help churches move from making a few disciples to growing intentional disciplemaking cultures. Navigator staff and ministry partners across this country are devoted to developing generations of disciples in everyday life where they live, work, play, and worship.
As a ministry of The Navigators, NCM has a clear vision: Every church leader a discipler; every church making disciples.
NCM’s mission is based upon 2 Timothy 2:2, where Paul writes to his young protégé Timothy, “And the things you have you heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”
NCM can provide a rich variety of discipleship materials, including those available at navpress.com. Learning labs are conducted where church members are equipped to live and minister in increasing fruitfulness in whatever venue God has placed them.
- The disciplemaking process focuses on seven major areas:
- A leadership foundation of prayer, teamwork, and assessment
- Mission, vision, and values clarification
- Maturity strategy
- Outreach strategy
- Leadership development
- Small groups and infrastructure
NCM is active in strategic partnerships with other organizations, including:
- The International Evangelism Association, bringing discipleship to seminaries
- Ministry Coaching International, which adds coaching and life change to our church change process
- The REVEAL Team of the Willow Creek Association (WCA), for expanded Kingdom impact
This partnership with WCA offers churches coaching, consulting, materials, and tools to help them process through the REVEAL survey and to determine strategies for church culture change.
A pastor from Canon City, Colorado, whose church NCM worked with to grow an intentional disciplemaking culture, recently commented: “The experience has given us hope and has challenged us not to settle for just knowing about the church mission, but has moved us to be, to do, and to go about making disciples.”

Col. 2:7 Changed My Life!
I was a “baby” Christian at 41 having been “born again” three years earlier. I was attending a Christian church where a Colossians 2:7 course was about to begin, and I signed up for it. Through that course I began my walk with the Lord. Because of the spiritual disciplines I not only learned how to understand and rightly handle God’s Word, I was given tools I still use today to show others (believers and nonbelievers) how to be an effective Christian in the world and have a life of fulfillment through Christ.
